Let’s talk about what’s causing migraine headaches

We talked about CGRP and how that causes inflammation around the brain, around the meninges, leading to the migraine response, that pain response.

But why is CGRP being released?

Why is it there, and why is it impacting you versus your friends or family or coworkers, et cetera.

That brings us back to this picture here talking about the trigeminal cervical nucleus.

When the trigeminal nerve, the nerve that goes to your face, gets irritated, it releases calcitonin, CGRP, causing that response up in your head.

What’s also interesting, though, is that when the neck gets irritated right here on this site, that it causes the same response.

So when you’re having a stiff neck, you don’t move very well in the neck, there’s a lot of tension there, that is going to create the same pain response and lead to that migraine headache.

So if you haven’t had this upper neck looked at, that’s a good place to start to address the cause of the problem and then find how to cut CGRP at the source, so we don’t have that problem going forward.
